Roni Deutch of Sacramento, California, one of the largest tax resolution companies, shut its doors this week largely due to an Attorney General action against them described here Roni Deutch assets frozen by court. Deutch violated the judge's order of last year by shredding documents and NOT refunding money to customers who requested refunds. Even though she clearly did NOT honor the judge's orders, Ms. Deutch felt victimized as per her video here: http://blogs.sacbee.com/crime/archives/2011/05/tax-lady-roni-d.html
We do feel sorry for her clients. But we also dislike the fact Ms. Deutch didn't take responsibility for her actions.
In recent years, Deutch tried to compete with the big tax preparation companies like H & R Block and Jackson Hewitt by setting up tax prep retail shops. Apparently, this business decision drained her cash reserves. Her tax resolution business was always the cash cow. The Attorney General actions against her were the final nail.
