40 Years of Tax Relief Companies: A Brief History of the Industry

We think it's safe to say that the national marketing of "tax relief" is a phenomenon that began in the early '80's. WATAX got its start in 1989.

From reviewing our list, we determined that:

there are six companies still operating (including WATAX) that started in the 1980's (also including one from the seventies),

there are twelve companies still operating that started in the 1990's,

there are seventeen still operating from 2000 to 2015,

there are 34 still operating who started 2006 to 2010,

there are 69 still operating who started 2011 to 2015,

there are just 12 in existence who started 2016 to 2019 that we are aware of.
