From reviewing this survey, you can see that 2008 - 2012 - was truly the boom cycle for "tax resolution" companies. We are pleased that 2013 - shows a real decline in "tax relief" companies! One does have to ask why the surge in 2008 onward? Was it related to the recession? OR was it debt relief companies leaving that industry and moving into tax relief? I think the most plausible answer is the closing of very large tax relief companies like: American Tax Relief in 2010, Roni Deutch in 2011, JK Harris in 2011, and Taxmasters in 2012. Their ex-employees went and started smaller outfits.
