What are we looking for when we comb the IRS files for you?

1. Where do you stand in the collection process? Are you with ACS (Automated collection systems)? Getting assigned to a Revenue Officer? Already assigned to a Revenue Officer? Is the IRS asking that you file certain years? All of these questions help set the stage for how we'll resolve your tax case and layout our calendars for you.

2. What years do you owe and when do the debts expire? The 10 year statute of limitations is always our first thing to check as there is nothing better than having taxes expire and also this data is key to determining if our client qualifies for an Offer in Compromise (if the debts haven't expired).

3. Have you filed the last six years of returns (IRS compliance window) and if not, can we get transcripts for us or the client to prepare the returns? In late 2021, 16 to 20 tax returns should get you straight. 2022, 17 to 21 years will bring you in compliance, for example.
