As we have written multiple times in our blog, the IRS Automated Collection Systems (ACS) has been levying infrequently since about January 2016. In the fall of 2021, it seems that tide has turned. The code of the letter can be found in the upper right corner. The CP90 and the CP91 letters seems to be the ones that are forewarning of actual levies.
The CP91 is a real threat to Social Security garnishment. The Cp90 letter is a general threat of levy to bank accounts or wages. You can see the significance of other IRS letters by visiting the IRS letters page.
