Last year, I was hired to appeal a client's audit -- I submitted the appeal about 10 months ago. Today I discovered that the balance previously assessed by an audit -- $66,000 -- was eliminated for tax year 2008 for the client.
This was a client who ran a lot of money through their bank accounts -- a business -- a lot of which was unrelated to their business (no, not money laundering!).
