In the last week I have offered tax representation to two clients who also checked our Tax Resolution Services in Encino. TRS is a decent company with a solid BBB record on my list here: Recommended Companies with Reservations However, their sales folk charge very very high fees.
Customer #1: Washington Tax Service fee $1500.00, TRS fee $5500.00 That's a $4000 difference.
The lady had defaulted her installment agreement on a $25,000 debt by owing for 2010 and she expected to owe for 2011 as well. Her case is in Automated Collection Systems.
Customer #2: Washington Tax Service fee $2100.00, TRS fee $8000.00 That's a $6000 difference.
This gentleman, a recovering tax protester (if you will), owed about a half of million to the IRS based on returns the IRS had prepared for him. The IRS was not pursuing him aggressively, though, and the balances due were much much higher than what they would be if he filed the returns.
