The IRS had a bit of holiday hiatus from levies and garnishments. Now, they are back in business. I am getting quite a few phone calls from folks who have been levied.

If you have been levied or garnished, I understand that you might be panicked. But if you can take a deep breath, here's what you need to gather before calling our office:

1. Garnishment Call your payroll and ask for a fax #. This will help facilitate a release of your garnishment.

2. Bank levy Call your bank and ask for a fax # for levy release. Do realize that the bank is required to freeze the money for 21 days. So, we have 21 days to get it released.
