New Junk Mail Letter: Notice of Tax Lien Investigation

A client of our's sent a letter he received from an address in Sacramento. The company is called National Tax Debt. "Notice of Tax Lien Investigation, Tax Lien Verification, Lien Unit Phone: 866-362-5842, Agency Hours: 9am - 6pm

Legal name of Taxpayer: xxxxxs xxxxxxer, Residence of Taxpayer, xxxxxxxxx Ranch Rd., Notice Year 2010

"As provided by section 6321, 6322, and 6323 of the Internal Revenue Code, our records indicate that the IRS has given you notice that taxes (including interest and penalties) have been assessed against the following named taxpayer as listed above. The IRS has made a demand payment of this liability...."

To quote my client: this letter got him "really worked up." Unfortunately -- it is JUNK MAIL from a new tax relief company...You have to ask yourself: if the company is willing to be majorly DECEPTIVE in their mailing - pretending they are a government agency -- why would you think they would do a good job on your case and help you actively and honestly in the 12 months it might take to do your tax case?

We are pretty sure that is the same "National Tax" who ALSO sends out these mailers:

Tax Processing Center
Tax Lien Division
FINAL NOTICE
1-800-656-1732

The address they indicate is

Tax Processing Center
4133 Avenida de la Plata
Oceanside, CA 92056

We wrote about this company here in October 2012: Tax Lien Mailings: Pretty Deceptive. We found this lady's yelp comment also -- right on the mark: Yelp Comments on Tax Processing Center...etc. Here's our overview of the tax lien mailing industry: Overview and History of Tax Lien Mailing Industry. Tax relief companies in Southern California have a dramatically high closure/failure rate. Be careful!
